Don't Let Spring Cleaning Overwhelm You

Decluttering your home in a day seems like a daunting task. To make the process easier, think about the areas you frequent the most that are most cluttered and start there. Designate a day to organize your home, then use a timer to tackle each problem area for a specific amount of time. Once the timer goes off, put away whatever is left, and move on to the next room. You put the finish line in sight by dedicating a specific time to each area.

1. Entryway - Hooks are good options to keep jackets and bags off the ground. Adding baskets and small cabinets helps keep things organized if space isn't an issue.

2. Kitchen Cabinets - Keep your most-used items upfront or in easy-to-reach places and appliances you only occasionally use on the topmost cabinets.

3. Living Room - Look over the room and return any random items to their home. Throw papers, magazines, and other small objects into the recycling bin if possible. Survey the shelves and cabinets in the room and throw out or donate books you no longer read or accessories you've outgrown.
